[edit] Mounting a Drive using WebDAV (Windows XP)
This document will provide details on how to create a connection to a remote WebDAV directory.
First, double click on My Computer. You should see a screen like this:
Next, click on Tools and then select Map Network Drive.... You should get to a screen like this:
The next step is to click on the link that says Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server. This will open up the Add Network Place Wizard:
Click the Next > button. The system will do a quick search and you will end up with a screen like this:
Select the Choose another network location item. You will see this screen:
You will now need to enter the URL for the WebDAV network drive. In this example, we are connecting to http://10.0.0.12/dav. You should use the URL provided to you. You will get prompted for a username and password:
Enter your username and password you were provided. Once you have been authenticated, you can change the name for your network drive location:
In this example, we've used My Remote Home Dir. To continue, click the Next > button. This should complete the process and open your network drive.
To find your network place later, you can click on My Network Places on the My Computer Screen:
You will end up with a new screen that looks like this:
You can see the directory we created. It is the one called My Remote Home Dir. You should now be able to open that network folder to manage files.
